Hi!
I’m Kayla Westrich, your new Prek-8 principal at New Auburn. My husband, daughter and I have
lived nearby in the township of Sand Creek for 6 years. We enjoy spending time outdoors with
our dog, riding on the ATV trails and pontooning.
I was born and raised in St. Cloud, MN where I graduated high school. I then went to UMD in
Duluth for psychology and transferred to the University of Minnesota. I graduated from there in
2013. I then attended UW Eau Claire for my school psychology degree(s) and UW River Falls
two years ago for my principal and director of instruction licenses.
I am thrilled to (re)join the New Auburn staff as I spent my first year in education here. I care
about the community and look forward to supporting the students, families and staff. It’s
important to me to ensure kids are psychologically safe at school so they can do their very best.
This will be our focus this school year. I look forward to meeting all of you and serving the village
of New Auburn.
