What is confidentiality?  It is simply my promise to you that what you say to me is private.  I won’t share your stories with anyone else…Unless. The poster above outlines when I legally have to share your story with another trusted adult: when you or someone else is in danger of being hurt, or when you give me permission to talk to another trusted adult. Why is confidentiality important? It’s important so that you know that whatever you say, you can trust that I will do my best to help you find solutions or strategies to help you through the situation you are in – without judgement, without the fear of getting into trouble. Sometimes there are actions steps  – but sometimes it just means having a place to talk about stuff that’s bugging you. So if you need someone to talk to, I invite you to come see me!
